The Maker
I am Charlotte, a classically trained Jeweller with a drive to create beautifully imperfect and alive jewellery that can be worn by anyone. Throughout my schooling years I had no interest in any subject other than art and I truly believe it is in my blood to create. I was never one to follow the mainstream curve and a troublesome teen to say the least. Finding my "thing" has been grounding and such a blessing. I am able to work on something that brings me joy, creates happiness and unites people. I have an affinity for saying yes to things way out my comfort zone or capabilities and it pushes me to learn new skills whilst producing, what I hope, is beautiful art. I hope you think so too.
The most important thing happened to me in 2022 when I birthed the most energetic and wonderful human. Everything I do, every piece I sell, every word spread is consciously for her. Thank you for supporting her too.
The idea
I find beauty in weird and wonky forms. Most of my work is inspired by nature through seemingly random, organic shapes and eroded like surfaces. I love the juxtaposition of beautiful materials thrown together in rough formations. Through this journey Igneous was born. I live in the countryside so am in no drought of inspiration as the seasons evolve and my style continues to develop.
As my brand progresses I am becoming as environmentally conscious and as sustainable as I can. Luckily, as a small brand, I am running an innately environmentally stable workplace with little material waste - I collect every scrap and dust of metal to melt down again for further use. I also buy traceable products from ethical & sustainable resources where possible. I use certified recycled materials in my work which means no further damage caused to environments where they are sourced without losing any value or change to aesthetic. My packaging is also made from recycled materials.
